    Haneda airport guide

Using the JR Pass from Haneda airport

Haneda is closer to central Tokyo than Narita, but the JR Pass works slightly differently here. Here is how to exchange your voucher and which trains are covered.

    01

Where to exchange the voucher at Haneda

Haneda has a JR East Travel Service Center inside Terminal 3 (international) where you exchange the voucher you received from GetJRPass for the actual pass. Bring your passport.

    • Terminal 3 JR East Travel Service Center, open daily.
    • You can also exchange later at Tokyo, Shinjuku or Shinagawa station.
    02

    Which Haneda trains are covered

    • The Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho is not included in the JR Pass.
    • JR limited express services that connect Haneda area to central Tokyo are covered.
    • Once at Hamamatsucho or Shinagawa you can use any JR line nationwide with the pass.
    03

    Fastest way into Tokyo

If speed matters, take the Keikyu line from Haneda to Shinagawa, then switch to JR. If you prefer to use the pass right away, exchange at Terminal 3 and ride covered JR services from there.

    Frequently asked questions

    Quick answers to common questions.

Is the Tokyo Monorail covered by the JR Pass?

No. The Tokyo Monorail is operated separately and needs a separate ticket or IC card.

Can I exchange my voucher at Haneda Terminal 1 or 2?

The main JR exchange counter at Haneda is in Terminal 3. Take the free shuttle between terminals.

Is Narita or Haneda better with a JR Pass?

Narita Express is fully covered by the pass. From Haneda the easiest covered route uses Keikyu plus JR, so Narita is slightly more pass friendly.
