City guide
Sendai is the largest city in Tohoku and just 90 minutes from Tokyo on the Tohoku shinkansen. The JR Pass covers the ride and opens up beautiful day trips along the coast and into the mountains.
A round trip Tokyo and Sendai alone is around 22,000 yen. Add Matsushima and Yamadera and the pass becomes the obvious choice.
