    Tokyo to Fukuoka by shinkansen

    Tokyo to Fukuoka is the longest single shinkansen ride in Japan. With a JR Pass it costs nothing extra and shows off the country in one journey.

    • Distance: around 1,170 km.
    • Nozomi direct from Tokyo to Hakata: 5 hours.
    • Hikari plus Sakura combination via Shin Osaka: 6 to 6.5 hours, fully covered by the JR Pass.

    A reserved ordinary seat is around 23,810 yen one way. A round trip alone is nearly the price of a 14 day JR Pass.
