    Hakone with the JR Pass: getting there from Tokyo

    Hakone is one of the easiest day trips from Tokyo. The JR Pass covers the shinkansen ride to Odawara, the gateway station for Hakone's hot springs and lake.

    • Tokyo to Odawara by Hikari or Kodama shinkansen: 35 minutes, JR Pass covered.
