How to see your IC card transaction history in Japan
Japanese IC cards store the last 20 or so transactions on the chip itself. With a free NFC reader app you can see every train ride and konbini purchase without queueing at a station machine.

Install the IC card balance checker app from nfcjp.com, open it and tap your card on the back of your phone. The list of recent transactions appears together with the current balance.
