The JR Kansai Area Pass is a specialized rail pass designed for tourists traveling within the Kansai region of Japan. Offered by JR West, this pass grants unlimited access to JR regional trains, buses, and even some rapid transit services across cities like Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and Nara. The pass provides a cost-effective way for visitors to explore the cultural and historical treasures of Kansai. Additionally, its convenience eliminates the need for individual ticket purchases, making transit seamless. The pass can be bought for 1, 2, 3 or 4 consecutive days.

The Kansai Area Pass is only available to non-Japanese passport holders under the entry status of “Temporary Visitor”.

You can NOT purchase a Kansai Area Pass if you meet the following:

    Japanese Citizen
  • excluded
    Work visa
  • excluded
    Student visa
  • excluded
    Any other visa than Temporary Visitor.

This is included:

    Haruka Kansai Airport Express (non-reserved seats)

    Special Rapid, Rapid Services, Local train on JR West conventional lines.

Refund in Japan:

Your Kansai Area Pass can be refunded and returned within 90 days of purchase at any Station that exchange the voucher. JR will charge you a 10% processing fee on each Rail Pass.
