Universal Studios Japan is one of the easiest theme parks in Asia to reach by train. With a Japan Rail Pass the entire trip from Shin Osaka, Osaka or even Tokyo is covered, right down to the JR Yumesaki line to Universal City station.

From Kyoto or Tokyo
- Kyoto: JR special rapid to Osaka, then JR Loop and Yumesaki line.
- Tokyo: shinkansen to Shin Osaka, then transfer to Osaka station and ride to Universal City.
- Plan around 3 hours from Tokyo door to door.

- Buy park tickets in advance, the JR Pass does not include entry.
