- Hikari: similar time, fewer per hour but very comfortable.
- Kodama: stops at every station, around 2 hours 30 minutes.

Route guide
Hiroshima is one of the easiest add ons from Osaka. The Sanyo shinkansen connects Shin Osaka to Hiroshima in under 90 minutes and the JR Pass covers Hikari, Sakura and Kodama trains all the way.
A one way reserved seat on Sakura from Shin Osaka to Hiroshima is around 10,600 yen. A 7 day JR Pass at 50,000 yen pays back if you also use it for the Tokyo leg, a Kyoto base or a continuation to Hakata.
