Transfers from Shin Osaka
- JR Kyoto line to Osaka station in 4 minutes, fully covered by the JR Pass.
- Special Rapid to Kyoto in 25 minutes or Kobe in 25 minutes.
- Osaka Metro Midosuji line for central Osaka, paid separately.

Tips with a JR Pass
- Use the manned gate marked Shinkansen Transfer or Exit.
- Reserve seats free at the green JR ticket machines or at the Midori no Madoguchi office.
- Plenty of ekiben shops on the shinkansen concourse for the ride east or west.
