Before activation
- Your exchange order is valid for 3 months from issue.
- Unused exchange orders can be refunded subject to a 15% handling fee within 12 months of purchase.

Can you refund a JR Pass after activation?
Refund rules differ depending on whether your exchange order has been turned into an actual JR Pass. Here is exactly what you can claim back and when.

After activation
- Once exchanged in Japan, the pass is non refundable.
- Unused days do not generate any refund.
- Lost or stolen passes cannot be reissued or refunded.

How to request a refund
Contact GetJRPass support with your order number. We process refunds within 5 working days. Refunds are sent back to the original payment method. A 35 EUR late fee applies if the original exchange order needs to be returned by post and arrives after the window.
