Miyajima sala
Mājvieta ikoniskajiem peldošajiem torii vārtiem
Par Miyajima salu
Miyajima, officially known as Itsukushima, is a small island in Hiroshima Bay considered one of Japan's three most scenic views. The island has been a sacred Shinto site for centuries, and its iconic floating torii gate is recognized worldwide as a symbol of Japan.
The island is home to Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the 6th century. The shrine's unique design, with buildings constructed on stilts over the water, creates the illusion that both the shrine and its famous torii gate are floating during high tide.
Beyond the shrine, Miyajima offers pristine nature, hiking trails up Mount Misen, traditional shopping streets, and delicious local cuisine. The island's friendly deer add to its mystical atmosphere, making it a must-visit destination easily accessible from Hiroshima.

What to see and do
Atklājiet šīs svētās salas burvību Hirosimas līcī.

Peldošie torii vārti
Itsukušimas svētnīcas sarkanie torii vārti ir viens no Japānas ikoniskākajiem attēliem. Stāvot 16 metru augstumā Hirosimas līča ūdeņos, vārti paisuma laikā šķiet peldoši, radot maģisku ainu, kas apbūrusi apmeklētājus gadsimtiem ilgi. Bēguma laikā varat aiziet līdz torii pamatnei, lai iegūtu unikālu perspektīvu.

Mount Misen
Rising 535 meters above the island, Mount Misen offers spectacular panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea and surrounding islands. Reach the summit via the Miyajima Ropeway, which takes you through primeval forest, or challenge yourself with one of three hiking trails.

Friendly deer
Miyajima is famous for its friendly sika deer that roam freely throughout the island. Considered sacred messengers of the gods in Shinto tradition, these gentle animals are a beloved part of the island's charm.

Local cuisine
Miyajima is renowned for its local specialties. Grilled oysters are a must-try, harvested fresh from the surrounding waters. The famous momiji manju, maple leaf-shaped cakes, make perfect souvenirs.
