I have bought a JR pass before they hike the price up. I plan to activate it the end of November, due to not getting ghibli park tickets in time I now need to travel from Nagoya to Fukuoka after 5:30pm when park closes. The hotel wont allow anyone to checkin after 10pm so I am worried. I heard that the new rules mean I can pay extra to upgrade to Nozomi? is that right and if so do you know how much?

Hi Gaynor, the upgrade can only be made with passes purchased after October 1st. If you pass was bought to the old price, it’s not possible I’m affraid. Atleast regarding to the indormation we have been given by JR so far. I will however have a look at this and get back to you once I get a reply.
