Can i use the JR pass inside cities?

Hallo, I wonder if I should get the JR pass as I want to travel from city to city but also use the public transport inside the cities like the underground or tram etc.. is it possible to do all that with the Jr pass? Or do I need another ticket for that as well?

All the major cities are connected by Shinkansen bulelt trains, which is included in the Japan Rail Pass 😊

Bigger cities like Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo and more have local transportation as well. Such as JR Yamanote line in tokyo stopping at Akihabara, Ikebukuro, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ueno, Tokyo station and much, much more.

In general you cannot use local buses, trams (street trains), underground transportation and alike – unless they are operated by JR or an affiliated corporation. So better check before usage.
