Choosing Ticket from Hiroshima to Tokyo

HELLO, I would like some help choosing a ticket, whether the JRP Pass will be enough or if I need another one. I plan to travel from Osaka to Hiroshima, Himeji, Nara, I will be in Osaka for 5 days, then Kyoto (3 days), then transfer to Tokyo and then Fuji, Hakone, Kamakuru, Niko (6 days). Can you please recommend which tickets I should buy? Thank you

Hi Alex, your nationwide “normal” Japan Rail Pass will cover Osaka to Hiroshima, Hiroshima to Himeji, Himeji to Nara and Nara to Osaka and Osaka to Kyoto as well as Kyoto to Tokyo.

However, JR does not operate around Fuji and Hakone etc.
There is a Regional Pass called “Mt. Fuji-Shizuoka Area Tourist Pass Mini” but it can only be purchased for 3 days, so I’d rather do individual single tickets during your stay around Fuji and Hakone instead.

If you purchase a Japan Rail Pass for your entire stay, you may use the JR lines which is included in the Japan Rail Pass from Kamakuru to Tokyo again and Tokyo to Nikko etc.
It’s just the Hakone area and around Mt Fuji that’s not well covered by JR and their lines.

Hope it was of help and I wish you a wonderful stay in Japan 😊
