What did they do in Japan?
Caroline and Annika traveled around Japan for 16 days with an 8-year-old. They started their journey in Tokyo, enjoying the vibrant city life and shopping. They visited both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, explored The Making of Harry Potter exhibition, and experienced the electronics district of Akihabara before heading to Kyoto to truly immerse themselves in the “old Japan.” Kyoto offers plenty of nature and temples, which were high on Annika’s wishlist when planning the trip.
In Kyoto, they made just had to visit Fushimi Inari Taisha, the Golden Pavilion, Kiyomizu-Dera Temple, Gion, and Yasaka Pagoda. But the journey didn’t end there—Annika wanted to visit Hiroshima. We planned a day trip to Hiroshima to learn about the tragic bombing and also visited Miyajima Island, known for its roaming deer, located just outside Hiroshima’s ferry terminal. They also took the opportunity to visit Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Osaka before returning to Tokyo, where they included a trip to Mt. Fuji and lots of animal cafe´s before heading back home.
