What to expect
Street Kart is a guided go-karting tour that lets you drive through real Tokyo streets, including iconic spots like Akihabara's electric town, Tokyo Tower, Rainbow Bridge, Odaiba, and Shibuya Crossing. You can even dress up as your favorite characters for a playful twist! Everything you need is provided - karts, costumes, helmets - for a hassle-free experience. Each tour is led by experienced English-speaking guides who ensure safety while sharing fun facts about the areas you pass through.
Routes and landmarks
Multiple tour routes are available, each showcasing different parts of Tokyo. Popular routes include the Akihabara tour through the famous electronics and anime district, the Tokyo Tower route with views of the iconic landmark, and the Odaiba route crossing the Rainbow Bridge with waterfront views. Night tours are particularly magical, with Tokyo's neon lights creating a spectacular backdrop. Tours typically last 1-3 hours depending on the route you choose.
Important requirements
An International Driving Permit (IDP) is required to participate - you must obtain one before your trip in your home country (this is NOT a normal driving license, it's a translation document). All drivers must be at least 18 years old and meet height restrictions. A full safety briefing is provided before the tour. While the experience is thrilling, safety is taken seriously with professional guides leading the way through Tokyo traffic.
How to get there
Street Kart Akihabara
Take the JR Yamanote Line or Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line to Akihabara Station. From there, it's a 5-7 minute walk to Street Kart Akihabara at 4 Chome-12-9 Sotokanda, Chiyoda City.
Other locations
Street Kart has multiple starting points in Tokyo including Shibuya and Shinagawa. All locations are easily accessible via JR lines covered by the Japan Rail Pass.
