When the 21 day pass pays off
- Two or more shinkansen round trips during the 3 weeks.
- Plans to base in different regions: Tokyo, Kansai, Kyushu.
- Need for unlimited reserved seats with one ticket.

Most Tokaido, Sanyo and Tohoku shinkansen have free wifi and seat power outlets. Reserve a window seat in the last row for extra space behind, and avoid car 7 which is often the wheelchair car with different layout.
