The Alpine Takayama-Matsumoto Area Pass is only available to non-Japanese passport holders under the entry status of “Temporary Visitor”.
Your Alpine Takayama-Matsumoto Area Pass can be refunded and returned within 90 days of purchase at any Station that exchange the voucher. JR will charge you a 10% processing fee on each Rail Pass.

Note that the Alpine-Takayama-Matsumoto Area Tourist Pass only can be purchased from February 15th until November 6th. The passes have to be activated between April 15th to November 6th.
