The Kansai Wide Area Pass is only available to non-Japanese passport holders under the entry status of “Temporary Visitor”.

You can NOT purchase a Kansai Wide Area Pass if you meet the following:

    Japanese Citizen
  • excluded
    Work visa
  • excluded
    Student visa
  • excluded
    Any other visa than Temporary Visitor.

    Wakayama Railway to Kishi station.

    Free bike rental at location stations where Ekirin-Kun is available.

    JR lines and JR West busses.

    Local Haruka, Kuroshio, Thunderbird, Kounotori, Super Hakuto Limited Express trains.

    Sanyo Shinkansen between Okayama & Shin-Osaka.
  • included
    Kyoto Tango Railway to Amanohashidate.

This is excluded:

    The pass cannot be used at automatic ticket gates.

    Only valid on non-reserved seats.

    Tokaido Shinkansen between Shin-Osaka and Kyoto.

    Super Hakuto between Kamigori -Tottori (Available for an extra fee)

Refund in Japan:

Your Kansai Wide Area Pass can be refunded and returned within 90 days of purchase at any Station that exchange the voucher. JR will charge you a 10% processing fee on each Rail Pass.

This pass is valid for five consecutive days and aims to offer a budget-friendly and convenient travel solution around the Kansai area. 

With the Kansai Wide Area Pass, travelers can explore the region’s major urban hubs such as Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe, as well as its charming towns, historical sites, and scenic attractions without incurring extra charges or buying separate tickets.
