Im from Brasil. I’m going to Japan in November. I’d like to know when I need to order my jr pass. And I’d like to understand better the process. Will you send me a physical document to my home or a digital voucher to my email to activate it in Japan? If this voucher is a physical document, how long to arrive at my home in brasil after I order it? Thank you.
Hi Washington Cruz, when an order is placed – we ship out your Japan Rail Pass voucher (MCO) within 1 workday. Normal delivery time to Brazil is 3-6 work days depending on when the order is placed (if close to the weekend, delivery time is longer than if placed on a monday morning). The order is shipped as paper without value, since it’s only a voucher and does not carry or need any import declaration or charges. Bring the voucher to Japan along with your Passport and visit any larger JR Office, found at all airports and major train stations across the country to activate the JR Pass. The staff will help you and provide you with all the information you may need during your stay in Japan. The exchange process is very quick and easy.
The JR Pass can be activated whenever you want within 90 days of purchase. If you intend to travel in the begining of november, you can already now place your order. If you intend to activate the JR Pass after the 14th of November, I’d wait a little longer.
