Is Shinkansen good with kids?
Our family of 5, where 2 is younger will go to Japan in January and need to know if the Shinkansen trains are safe and good for children.
We want to skii and will therefore have to go from Tokyo to Sapporo which is very far by train.

Hi Caroline,
The Shinkansen trains are very spacious, even in the standard / ordinary sections. The staff is very polite and helpfull and may sometimes provide toys for the kids if available on the train. We can however storngly reccomend to bring an iPad or similar to have the time go faster your children.
