The Shikoku Rail Pass is only available to non-Japanese passport holders under the entry status of “Temporary Visitor”.

You can NOT purchase a Shikoku Rail Pass if you meet the following:

  • excluded
    Any other visa than Temporary Visitor.

    Unlimited travel on JR Shikoku, Tosa Kuroshio Railway, Asa Kaigan Railway, Kotoden, Iyotetsu, and Tosaden trains.

    Access to multiple buses and trams, including Kotoden Bus, Iyotetsu Bus, and Tosaden Bus.

Refund in Japan:

Your Shikoku Rail Pass can be refunded and returned within 90 days of purchase at any Station that exchange the voucher. JR will charge you a 10% processing fee on each Rail Pass.

Refund outside of Japan:

With the Shikoku JR Pass, you can access certain bus and tram lines, including Kotoden Bus, Iyotetsu Bus, and Tosaden Bus.

Discounted attractions

The pass offers exclusive discounts and deals at selected tourist attractions and accommodations. You can enjoy discounted prices on the bus between Matsuyama and Kochi, and also avail a discount on the ferry routes Wakayama-Tokushima and Jumbo Ferry between Kobe-Shodoshima-Takamatsu. 

On top of this, you can use the Shodoshima Ferry between Tonosho Port on Shadoshima Island and Takamatsu, without any limit. Please note that the pass can only be used on the buses on Shadoshima and not on the high-speed boats.

Good to know about the Shikoku Pass

  • Green cars and wagons may not be used with your All Shikoku Rail Pass.
  • Seat reservation is not covered by the pass, but can be purchased separately.
  • The rail pass is personal and can only be used by the original user. Transfer of the pass to another name is not possible.
  • Your passport and rail pass is required to bring along on all journeys and at all times incase JR Staff request to see your identity and check if you're the real pass holder.

Exchange your All Shikoku Railway Pass

After you purchase your All Shikoku Railway Pass online, you will receive an Exchange Order. When you arrive in Japan, you must exchange this order for the actual pass at one of the following locations: JR Shikoku Travel Agency counters at Takamatsu, Tokushima, Matsuyama, and Kochi stations, major JR Shikoku stations, including Sakaide, Kotohira, Zentsuji, Marugame, Imabari, and Uwajima stations, or Travel Service Centers (View Plaza) at Okayama, Shin-Osaka, and Kyoto stations.

Please remember to bring your passport and Exchange Order when exchanging for the pass. The staff will validate the pass with your chosen start date to begin your journey. With the All Shikoku Railway Pass, you can easily and affordably explore the hidden gems of Shikoku Island.
